Notice - Another Run-Off in City and K-12

Friday, May 31, 2019

Gaye Fowler from Emily Carr University is the successful candidate for the 2nd Vice President position and Starla Bayley is the successful candidate for the Parks Sector Representative position. All Executive positions are a three year term.

As no candidate received the majority of votes cast for the positions of City Sector Representative or K-12 Sector Representative a second run-off vote is required as per our union bylaws.

In the City Sector Aaron Cook drops off the ballot leaving Ravina Lal, Seagrin Worster and Darren Parks.

In the K-12 Sector Donna Petersen drops off the ballot leaving Peggy Wong and Carley Romas.

If you work in the City or K-12 Sector and we have a personal email address on file for you, you will receive an email from Simply Voting when the run-off poll opens on Monday, June 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. This email will include your PIN. The poll will remain open until 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 7th Pacific Time. Results will be posted on the union website as soon as they are available.

If you have not received a PIN please phone the union office as soon as possible and after verification of your membership we will instruct Simply Voting to email one to you. The deadline for requesting a PIN is Thursday, June 6th at 4:00 p.m. - no exceptions. In order to obtain/verify contact information we request that members contact the union personally rather than asking someone else to do it on their behalf.

It is possible that there will be a third run-off vote in the City Sector so please do not discard your PIN if you work in this sector.

If you have any questions please contact Rosemary Matheson, Local 15 Office Manager at the union office (604-879-4671).
