Park Board Vote to Save Bloedel Conservatory
Tuesday night the Service and Budgets Committee of the Vancouver Park Board supported a joint proposal from the Friends of the Bloedel and VanDusen Botanical Garden Association to keep the Bloedel Conservatory open.
CUPE 15 president Paul Faoro is pleased that it looks like we have been able to keep the 40 year landmark running for years to come and publicly controlled.
“Our union has been very supportive of the campaign launched by the Friends of the Bloedel Conservatory and we are delighted that this special Vancouver landmark will be saved from the wrecking ball. CUPE 15 members are proud to work at this public attraction and have helped make it such a special place in our city,” says Faoro.
The final approval will go to the Park Board in September. CUPE 15 representatives will be attending this meeting to put forward the union’s support for the proposal.
