Survey for VSB Members – Modified Local School Calendar

Over the last several weeks the Vancouver School Board has been meeting with CUPE 15 and other stakeholder groups to determine the preferred option for the local school calendar for the 2011-2012 school year. The VSB has been using a modified local school calendar for the current school year which increases the length of the school day and has 10 district closure days. This was implemented on a one year basis as a cost saving measure due to provincial government underfunding.

In order to evaluate the modified local school calendar currently in place at the VSB we have created an online survey for CUPE 15 members working at the Vancouver School Board to complete. Click here to take survey

The survey will close on March 31st. CUPE 15 will use this information for our ongoing discussions with the VSB on this issue. Please note the VSB is conducting a random employee survey which is different than the CUPE 15 survey. We encourage members to complete both surveys. The VSB will issue a report with recommendations for the 2011-2012 local school calendar in early April for consideration by the Vancouver Board of Trustees. Updates on this issue will be posted on this website.
