Update #3 for VSB Members - BCTF Job Action

CUPE 15 has been advised by the Vancouver School Board that they will be using union exempt administrators to cover duties normally performed by teachers during the current BCTF job action.

We understand school administrators have or will receive a directive in this regard. While we are still receiving phone calls from members expressing concern about expanded duties, we are hopeful that the situation will resolve itself shortly. We are closely monitoring this matter across the school district.

Once again, if you are asked by your administrator to perform duties beyond your normal ones please ask the administrator for the directive in writing and forward a copy to our union office. It would be helpful if it could be sent by email at email@cupe15.org.

If the expanded duties situation for our members is not rectified in the coming days CUPE 15 will take all steps to force closure on this matter. This would include using all contractual and legal avenues available to us.
