Vancouver Coastal Health workers vote No
CUPE 15 members employed by Vancouver Coastal Health joined their CUPE health sector counterparts at Fraser Health Authority today in overwhelmingly turning down a tentative agreement reached by the Health Sciences Professionals Bargaining Association.
Paul Faoro CUPE 15 President said “our members were disappointed with some of the proposed trade-offs in the tentative agreement and voted 95% against ratifying the deal”.
“This tentative agreement would take money from our members left pocket and puts a little bit of it back into their right pocket, which is not fair or respectful”. “It’s time that front line health care workers in British Columbia are valued for the important work they do each day in our communities” added Faoro.
CUPE 1978 members at Vancouver Island Health Authority will be voting tomorrow. CUPE represents over 500 members in this bargaining association, represented by CUPE Locals 15, 1978 and 4816.
